Northern Virginia Counseling Center serving Manassas, Fairfax and Surrounding Areas from our Facility in Gainesville, VAAdolescents generally find it difficult to eloquently verbalize their feelings. They are often overwhelmed and even confused by the number of complex feelings that come as they move toward adulthood. However, for teens, most conflicts involve differences between family members or issues over expectations of parents, in addition to peer and school pressures.
Life Enrichment Counseling Center offers a variety of professional services designed to provide the most effective care possible for each client. Services most frequently provided are:
Individual/ adult psychotherapy or counseling: Clients meet one-to-one on a regular basis with a mental health professional to explore patterns and identify desired changes. Typical areas of concern are emotional well-being, managing stress, relationship or family issues, and making desired changes in behavior.
Adolescent psychotherapy or counseling: Adolescents meet one-to-one on a regular basis with a mental health professional to explore, at an age-appropriate level, their feelings, behaviors, coping strategies, and relationships. Parents and other adults are an important part of the successful outcome of psychotherapy for children. Therefore, recommended treatment typically includes some parental involvement. Learn More ...

Play Therapy: Life Enrichment Counseling Center offers Play Therapy through Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Letitia Blanco-Alcala. Play therapy at the Center is based upon the philosophy of the Association for Play Therapy, Inc., which states that play is the primary communication tool for a child, and is therefore an instrumental component of the therapeutic process for children in need. Therefore, the therapist may incorporate play into some or all aspects of their work with children. Life Enrichment Counseling Center has a play therapy room, and a variety of therapeutic toys and games.
